What's going to Legends?

Perhaps I’m looking in the wrong places but I don’t seem to be able to find a list of the performers at this year’s Legends. I can’t think of another event which is asking £29.95 for admission and not releasing some sort of list to let the punters assess whether it’s worth the investment.

Here we go! The list is now up on TFC website: http://fighter-collection.com/pages.php

Edit: Sorry chaps, it seems this board has sprung yet another Legends thread! How many can we have!
Cheers, Huw:)

Look here:
http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/operations-and-support/establishments/naval-bases-and-air-stations/rnas-yeovilton/rnas-yeovilton-air-day-2009/visitors/

Although I have no doubt that FL will be a great airshow as allways, I’ll go to Yeovilton this year. My family wanted a change. There will be a Legends next year.

Dear Gliderspit,
Thanks for that heads up.
It never crossed my mind to check their web site.
Its very tempting but I have already bought the Flying Legends Tickets.
Now if I can persuade my wife its worth it…..?
Best regards
Beejay

Superhuman is what TFC do best.

Remember when the P39 turned up? I seem to remember it was only 4 days from shipping container to flight test, but feel free to correct me if it was longer/shorter than this!!

With the TFC guys, anything is possible:)

There was a Bleriot being assembled in Hangar 2 yesterday (the Swedish one?) but in my uninformed view, it will take a superhuman effort to get WG 655, the Sea Fury, airworthy. I hope I’m wrong.

Well I suppose you can only go on the fact that the website is produced by the official regulatory body for the UK and that info regarding if a particular aircraft has the appropriate permit is updated on a very regular basis (usually within 2-3 days)

Just speculating…

What is the latest these issues can be resolved?

Say the paperwork is done today, will it still be time to put them into the air?

I see the Gladiator falls into this disbanded category. It would be a terrible shame to everyone if it can’t fly togheter with the Shuttleworth example. I’m in desperate need for some Gladiator pictures and this would be the absolute perfect opertunity 😀

In the real world I live in I don’t believe everything I read on the internet.

My point (somewhat lost by now) was that just because a website says something is ‘suspended’, doesn’t mean it is actually ‘suspended’.

Optimism lives on:p

I am also on the optimistic side, And you can be certain the TFC team will be doing their best to solve any problems and find alternatives where the paperwork has tied the TFC aircraft to the ground, This challenge may make up for a very different Flying Legends and possibly provide something very special.

As always i am looking forward to this weekend and very much expect I will be having another lovely day at Duxford. Its also well worth remembering that even if some of the TFC stuff can not fly, They can still form part of the flightline as statics, And you can be sure you will see things at Duxford that you will not see anywhere else in 2009.

All I say is go along support and enjoy the show it will be something special.

Legends or Bust!

My friends have arrived from the US & have gotten over the jet lag so its off to the UK Tuesday.
We will again visit some of the excellent aviation & military museums the southern UK has to offer.
Duxford again on the weekend. We trust that the TFC & other Duxford based operators along with those visiting will do their best to have another Flying Legends to remember.
The weather reports look good.
See you all there…..

Anybody know in advance the VHF radio ‘display frequency’? I can never remember if it’s the same frequency and always have to ask someone.

wow optimistic or what, can only hope for the best show yet:D

And of course the “best show” will be the one you have all been waiting for to emerge out of “Area 51”. There’s no denying it, those hundreds of photographers hanging on the fence at hold point 24 Alpha from thursday onwards are only there for one thing….

The one, the only…star of Legends and immune to the CAA

Terrence the Tug! 😀

Lets see those pictures…

NB: “Terrence” appears dependent on servicability and subject to available fuel uplift…:p

Nope, just trying to get a little bit of reality check on here. Some people seem to think that just because they want to see these aeroplanes fly then it dosent matter what anybody says they will. I am sure TFC are working their hardest to resolve the situation but the reality is that is they do not have current permits they cannot fly.
What ever happens it will still be a great weekend, but some people really need to get a grip on the real world!

I’ll be there, will you??:D

Out of interest, which of the TFC fleet flew at the May show at Duxford (or any other shows this year)?

Did G-INFO read ‘suspended’ for them at that time too? If so then clearly it doesn’t mean they won’t fly this weekend just because of what it says on G-INFO.

Hopefully.

I have no idea.

Suspended sounds very “mean” if you ask me. I trust TFC to know what they’re doing and try not to worry. 😀

This, on top of the weather, drives me on the brink of mental illness of stress and worries. Ask my wife!:D
