Whats Happening With EAL's 747's??

Does anyone know what is happening with European air charters 747’s as i saw a picture on airliners.net http://www.airliners.net/open.file/690054/L/ which shows G-BDXE in Edmonton. And on jethros it says most are either flying or are being prepared for flight. Have they got any contracts?? or are they being sold???.

EAL 747’s

One of EAL’s 747’s did a trip from Bourneoumth to Edmonton. Then Edmonton To Brize Norton. Then Brize Norton to Bournemouth last week. This was ferrying troops back to the UK.

Of more interest is that one of their 747’s is to fly from Filton to Exeter today. This is big news apparantly as this will be the first time a 747 has landed at Exeter. It’s going here to have a major check over.

It will be departing Filton today (Thursday 14th October) at 2pm and landing at Exeter at 2:50pm

Hope this is of interest.

EAL had 6 B742’s before there mini collapse earlier this year,at present there is one in AMS(G-BDXO i think),G-BDXE which left BOH for YEG(not sure why?),one was stored at Filton, this was due to ferry to EXT earlier this week not sure whether it did or not?.
That leave’s 3 which are at BOH at present G-CCMA which is all white and an ex VIR machine, and 2 other’s 1 of which is engineless, next time i visit i will note which one’s we have and which one is engineless.

They’re all ex BA birds are they not, so they’re getting on in years i’d say it won’t be long before they’re resting in the Mojave sun waiting their turn to become soda cans

Thats where BDXF and her sister ships from the EAL fleet came from not more than a year ago.

Yes they are ex BA birds. I flew on G-BDXF to New York in 2000 with BA.

Hi Airline Owner

I just had a look at (G-BDXF) the bird you flew in and noticed that it only has 2 engines on the photos i’ve saw on airliners.net it looks strange with only a 2 engine config does anyone know why it’s only got the 2 and if it’s gonna get the others replaced again

Thanks
