I would put money on him being a Law Enforcement Offcier. Maybe a Sky Marshall given in a white top or maybe hes undercover and took a squad car out with his new cameras?

Nope, well not in the official definition of the term (meaning that it is NOT his profession).
Andy
Well whatever he is, he’s a very lucky sod.

Possible but i very much doubt that.

Maybe he doesn’t mean a plane spotter. It could be someone who drives down the runway in his car checking for debris. At Heathrow they are called Checkers I think. Perhaps at LAX they are called Spotters.

DFW used to offer tours back in the late 1980s which included a visit to the control tower, then on a bus to the runway holding point for photography usually timed to coincide with a departure wave, then a buffet meal.
I would imagine these stopped a long time ago.

He’s actualy PAID to fly around the world to various locations. From his onboard photos, It clear the lucky ****** flies mainly business and first class.
Unless he’s on his Cessna and overhead, I mean directly overhead LAX! :p

It wouldnt take much of a lens at that distance to get photos of the passengers faces that are looking out the windows.
