Whats the latest in combat pc games?

Things develop rapidly as far as the increasing quality of flight sims, FPSs and stratagy games. Im wondering what people thing are the current best of these three genres.

Id like to list my short best and worst of the three:

Flight Sim

best- Il-2 is just incredable for the quality of aircraft graphics, it feels very real flying the Yaks, Fw190s, Me-109s. The major drawback is the sound of the german jets in a dogfight…very cheesy sounding like a 80s arcade reject.

worst-Comanche4- Awful graphics, cant hit anything without autoaim, time/space relationships wrong, feels like your flying 10 feet off the ground over 5 foot high mountains. In operation Flahpoint they have a part where you can fly a huey Cobra, now thats a very realistic helo sim and I wish they would expand it so you could fly helos throughout the game.

FPS

best- Ghost Recon series is the best but other FPSs have their good points also. The graphics in Return to Castle Wolfenstein are incredable. Incidently they include the original RTCW game made back in 92, it looks more like it was made in 1952.

worst-dont like shooting monsters

Stratagy

best- Havent found anything REALLY good yet. I wish the people who make the sims would make the sims in medieval times, now that would blow away MSs Age of series. The area you have to work with in the Age of series is to small to have realistic statagy but they are improving the graphics. I get tired of telling peasants where to chop wood and grow crops, it would be so much better if it was like sim city where you just layout areas you want developed.
