Thanks for the offers all, Hampdens were based 4 miles up the road from my home, at RAF Upper Heyford, so i have an affection for them.
saying that, i’m not about to start on a Hampden Cockpit rebuild !
I thought of the RAF Museum, it would be nice to think of it going into such a rare aircraft that one day will be on display ?
OR you may, or may not see it on my stall at Shoreham !
cheers
Julian

I’ll give you a good price for it, but also do think of Hendon – I don’t know if they need one or not

The pic I have is poor, but it looks like HP Hampden to me.

It’s a Dowty product – a ‘thumb latch control lock’. The drawing I have (from 1940) has the latch and the lever for the u/c on the other side – I wonder if yours was mounted on the pilots R hand side? As for the aircraft, I don’t know – looks a bit different to the Hurricane II ones I have seen, so I would say an early war contemporary of the Hurricane. It’s not from a Defiant, Master or Spitfire either. Fairey Battle anyone?
