A propellor has come into my possession. The owner told me that he had been told it was Russian in origin. Sadly I dont believe that to be true.
It is marked A656 9-3U128-10 and has a stamp BAL423.
Leading edge has a metalled strip and the trailing edge shows some wear.
Has anyone got an ideas as to what it is off?? My thoughts are Auster.

Sorry, complete prop., thats the back of a forklift its resting on…which may give some gauge of size or not. (im only guessing the size at the moment from memory)
and its tapered with very pointy tips

Just short of a metre??
What, the complete prop? Or just one blade?

Prop i/d
Does it have a very tapered planform with small, pointed tips?
It’s quite likely Jungmeister or a similar sized training machine.

That looks like is BAL stamp in an octagon? If so, German – Luftwaffe WW2 period.
The prefix 9 before the longer number is also a give-away. 9 denotes power plant/propellor related items in the Luftwaffe nomenclature. 8 = airframe.
What is the length of the propellor?
