Whats wrong with EF2000?

Having looked at many realted threads i notice that there are many out there who strongly dislike the EF2000, but why?

Compared to the Rafale and Gripen it is slightly more expensive but has better radar, engines, payload and wider variety of weapons carried. True the F/A-22 has many traits that make it superior to EF2000, but lets not forget that F/A-22 is hideously expensive.

One source i read said that the USAF in an attempt to slash costs of the Raptor said they could gets its price down to $110 million plus about $60+ million for any extras they wanted. Only when pushed did they reveal that one of the ‘extras’ was the engines!

To the point though, why all the EF2000 bashing. It seems to me that the buyers of this aircraft are going to get real value for money, a true next-gen capability and an aircraft superior to all others avaliable (other than Raptor obviously) 🙂
