I took a gamble and make the 230 mile trip up to Wick for the arrival of Mustang N515ZB, The Berlin Express… and struck it lucky
I thought that this was my “money shot” as it was through the fence under a cloud

The gentleman in the flying suit was the guy with Balls of steel, to fly this old girl across the Atlantic

They were debating whether or not to fly on or night-stop at Wick tonight and by the looks of it they may have stopped at Wick

Never had the opportunity to see warbirds up close like this when I lived in Wick!! Thats a trip north worth making 😉

Fantastic photos – a great documentation of that stop in the journey. The two gentleman pictured are Lee Lauderback (expert pilot) and one of his brothers, Richard Lauderback (expert mechanic), who was one of the three mechanics aboard the King Air support aircraft on the flight over.
