Here’s a couple of snaps I took in February at a little town in the south of the North Island of NZ called Pahiatua. I have been told this is the last of the playground Harvards in NZ (there used to be several, I remember one in Rotorua up till the late 1980’s)

Still a shame if it is the oldest Harvard though

The surface is all that is there – there is absolutely nothing inside it, not even an engine. But the paint is ok, yes.
Not worth restoring I don’t think – much better to leave as a slide and a lasting memorial to all who slid out the bottom of Harards during the war

actually looks in pretty good nick. Is it just on the surface, the overall sound condition ?

What? And spoil NZ’s greatest landmark? LOL
OK, you can take it down, but replace it with a Mk III, and make the entrance hole bigger for us big kids!

IIRC this is the oldest surviving Harvard in N.Z.
Maybe it is time for it to come in from the cold !

Sadly I am too big to have had a go… the opening is just for kids, D’oh!
