I have two wheelhubs, quite smallish (they fit a 4.00-3 1/2 tyre). I am told this size wheel came surplus from RAF stores before reuse in gliders. Rumour has it they were tailwheels of Spitfires (but hey, isn’t everything rumoured to come from a Spitfire?!?).
I would like to know what type they are of originally, that would help a lot narrowing down a source of tyres for existing aircraft. The gliders BTW were the T.30 Prefect and T.31 Tandem Tutor.

Drg No. AHO 5008
Serial No. F27015 (not sure, very faint)
