Surfing a bit further on I came across the local flying club site. Wouldn’t you just love to be able to rent the Apache for about £100 / hr?

That sounds like a reasonable price to me. Makes me think back to the days of four pounds an hour for a Cessna 150 and eight for a C172 (Wet), not in this country though. Ah what fond memories!

It was still there last time I saw the plane! It’s never happened when I’ve been flying solo, and the passenger’s the one who sits closest to the door. Maybe Nick was trying to say something about my flying? 😉

that was me :S i was dropping the mother in law off when she started fighting with me cos it was so cold outside and she didnt have a coat (or a parachute :D), well things came to a head and the door fell off 😀
