When is Speke airfield not Speke airport? When it is Liverpool John Lennon airport?

Reading up about Sir Alan Chobham on the RAF Museum website it states,

“Cobham’s company received many offers after the tour to choose the best sites for airports.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Bournemouth Airport are two notable examples of airport sites selected by Cobham.”

Presumably, they mean Speke Airport as was, or is that being to pedantic?
