This has been puzzling me for a while. My father won a photograph of an F-84E on the New Jersey boardwalk when he was a kid. I’ve had the photo now (nicely framed) for about 20 years, in fact it is hung right over this computer desk.
I was always curious as to whatever happened to the airframe. It’s a F-84E, s/n 49-2029. It’s flying with a pretty full warload, 16 rockets under the outer wings, 2 larger ones mounted near the fuselage. I’ve checked Joe Baughers site, but nothing on there tells me anything. Thanks in advance.

A quick search on
http://home.att.net/~jbaugher/usafserials.html
has revealed nothing as to the ultimate fate. No mention of export either.
F-84E-1-RE 49-2034 from the same batch however crashed in centre of the village of Beck after hitting a parked B-50 at Mildenhall 29 Aug 1951. The pilot was killed. (information from source above)

Sorry, it’s not listed among the few straight-wing F-84 survivors on this pretty accurate website.

There’s a chance it went overseas to a NATO country and survived.
I don’t have ready access to a list of international survivors, but I believe there are several more in Europe than listed on the site.
