under the FOIA the us gov has to tell people everything (almost) so its all public. also under the salt or start treatie they scrap the b52s in full view (in a way similar to cartoon – ie with a 10ton wieght froma crane straight throug the middle)

RE: Where…

Thanks for the kind words. Vegas is my 2nd home, with Gambling being my 2nd biggest vice. AMARC is mainly stored military, correct?

RE: Where…

Davis Monthan is definitely not on the road from LA to Vegas. I’ve done that trip countless times. Davis Monthan is in Arizona. I don’t think any of those storage facilities have public access any longer. The easiest place I know of, and have seen to take photos of stored airliners is at McCarran International(LAS) in Vegas. At the very southern end of the strip on the west side of the airport, are several airliners stored, mostly United DC10’s, 747’s and 737’s. There are others there as well. They come and go. You can see it perfectly if you’re staying at the Luxor, Mandalay Bay, or the Tropicana. You can pretty much walk right up to them, being parked right next to the fence. Hope this helps.

RE: Where…

I know for a fact from speaking with the Mojave Airport manager that there are no tours being given and nobody is allowed on the field for photography. Victorville is equally tight with security and they always have been.

RE: Where…

Oh really??? I heard of a base somewhre (this was in an aviation magazine) that was full of civil and Military a/c and it was secluded from the public and had stringent security.

RE: Where…

There’s a lot of civil jets at Mojave Airport, California and also Victorville, California, which used to be George AFB (where Phabulous Phantoms used to roost, sorry, got side tracked there for a moment), not sure whether public access is allowed, but I’m sure it probably is via prior arrangement. Hope this helps.
