Where did this Dornier engine go?

It looks in splendid condition. I wonder if it’s still about?

Cheers Mike, makes perfect sense when explained. I’ve got a guide book from a visit a few years ago, although might not have noticed it due to the amazing Mk1 Spit display.

JD Walton is, presumably, Derek Walton (now deceased) previously of Seahouses, Northumberland. He was a member of Neam and an avid collector and chronicler of aviation activity in and around Northumberland for many years right up until his passing.

Neam is, of course, North East Aircraft Museum. The engine could be there or at the museum Derek set up at Bamburgh Castle on the Northumberland coast.
