From Facebook:

The Iolar returned home today after a highly successful European tour. The flight time was 11hours over two days with four stops along the way, Paderborn, Antwerp, Cambridge and Caernarfon Wales before finally touching down in Dublin shortly after 17.30.

She was on her way to Caernarfon when she went over me. heard and saw it coming from miles away, lucky me 😀

your pictures far better than mine.

Maybe, but how fantastic to witness and photograph a rare machine like that on a long-cross country flight – like turning the clock back 75 years!

Good on Air Fungus too, for not only operating this gorgeous aircraft, but getting her out and about to such an extent!

It’s EI-ABI probably heading back to Dublin.

The photos threw me at first, I have never seen a dragon with squared wing tips, those I have been in have had very pointy wing tips. Are square tips a common feature of dragons?

You are thinking of the de Havilland 89 Dragon Rapide!

Could it be EI-ABI returned to flight by Aer Lingus to represent the original EI-ABI, Iolar, which, if I remember correctly, was lost during the war?
