Where is G-CPET now?

Since being withdrawn from service, does anybody know where G-CPET has been put? I was fetching my parents from Heathrow yesterday and arrived a little earlier than necessary, just to get a glimpse of the thing, but I couldn’t find it.

I expected to see it parked behind that huge BA hangar, where a long line of white 757s had been stored recently, but there was no sign of it.

Does anybody know if it is still at Heathrow and if it is still wearing the retro colours? I would still like to try and get a snap if at all possible. I know that it’s future is as a freighter, so I hope the paint hasn’t been stripped already.

Ok, so its now been moved…to where G-YMMM was parked up after it was moved following its crash-landing (not sure if this is where the Trident was parked up, I was not into commerical aviation so don’t know anything about this…:o?)

Not sure that this allows for a good/better picture than its previous location, but BA seem to have a habit of moving “special” aircraft out of sight or to somewhere that just doesnt allow for decent photographs, which is really quite a shame.:(

Its parked near to where they used to have the Trident parked up. I saw it last weekend when I was in the area. You might be able to get a snap if you do a bit of hunting about for a decent spot – but unlikely – your more able to get a shot of Concorde at present.

She will probably become N9XXFD at some point.

I think that is one of the BA aircraft that are coming to us to have holes cut in the side. Not sure when though. Will have to check aquisitions schedule and report back! She will probably become N9XXFD at some point. We are buying them like crazy.

Thanks both.

I suppose a last-minute snap is out of the question. For now anyway!

She’s still wearing the “classic” livery and is current sat on a remote stand tucked away from public view behind one of the BA buildings near Hatton Cross (well at least that’s where she was at 1.15pm this afternoon!). I see it most days when I am on the staff bus going to/from work as my staff car park is very close by.;)

Wish I could help you but can’t. 😉

Jethros just reports that 7 B.757’s are wfu and going to Fedex.

Interesting report on the last passenger commercial flight.
