Where Mk 5 clocks go to die

Just been passed a box of bits and it is a bit of an elephants graveyard.

In it are 14 Smiths Mk 5 ACA clocks all but one dating from 1951,52 and 53.

They are all in disrepair but can be cleaned up for static use or with the accompanying box of bits and a lot of enthusiasm possible for working.

Are any of use to instrument panel restorers ?

Also two other things

The first I have established is the 0- 180 dial from an R1132 receiver.

The other doohicky has a stores 10AR reference. Any ident and either of any use to anyone ?

Just to catch up and understand the detail – the sonobuoy part is marked with

With T7725 use DIR
With T9003 use SSQ.

Both these were UK sonobuoys from the 1950/60’s

The T9003 was a Directional Passive Sonobuoy.

Thanks to Smirky we can confirm that is the top direction finder from a Mk1C sonics receiver as used on ASW Shackletons.

Much appreciated.

I wondered whether it might be American when I saw this unit in a Youtube video, but the Stores Reference number shown in the forth picture implies not.

Yes sonobuoy, the clues are on the front. Don’t know any more than this …

Might be American equipment, otherwise must be pretty rare.

Smirky, that’s interesting, I’ve never seen one of those ‘in the flesh’, am I right that it’s part of the sonabouy system? What is the ‘name’ or designation of that system/unit?

The second picture looks to be the dial from an R1132 receiver. Are the third and forth pictures of the same item? I don’t recognise it.
