hello all
wondering where I could possibly find a contemporary paint spec/manufacturer’s code for that nice bluish-grey colour as seen on the cowlings of Bristol biplanes, i.e. BE2’s and F2’s etc.?
any info appreciated.
cheers

Ed
thanks for the information, much appreciated. I think I can figure out a match to that particular shade using some model paints.
By the way, it’s a small “v”, thus indicating not a Kingship but rather a fifth of liquor. Good thought though.

Source of Bristol Gray
Dear Greg V.
I happen to know that the gray colour on the pictured Fighter is a RAF Spitfire colour. I had so much left over from building the 3/4 scale Spit, that I used the rest on the Fighter. It was matched to the dark gray that was used on the gray-green camoflage style.
Now…Peter and the boys could have well repainted the metal work to a different colour when they repainted from silver to PC 10.

p.s. Of which country are you the fifth king of ??????

Would that be the same on the Bristol Fighter?
If so, I know a man who will know.
Yes, exactly what I was thinking, as seen below:

I’m sure I could ask the couple of companies that have done restorations/recreations recently, but I thought I’d ask here first.
