Which Aerodrome?

I wonder if I might ask the collective knowledge of these forums to identify an aerodrome?

The following video clip is of Luton in 1965 (sorry ’bout that) and from 1:20 until 3:45 it features an air display which the blurb on the website says is Luton. It is not. http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/6549

I remember Luton from 1959/60 and there was never a neat line of hangars like that and the countryside in the background of various scenes is not Luton. There was a Lincoln at Luton in the early 60s operated by Napiers but I think by 1965 that had moved to Cranfield. Again in the early 60s there was often a Canberra on the ground (I think some altitude record was set from Luton in 1959/60?)

The Dominie in the film is XS727 which first flew in 1965. I have asked Desmond Penrose if he was flying it but he doesn’t think so. I assume the Jet Provosts are the Red Pelicans.

So where is it? It’s not Hatfield and I don’t think it is Radlett or Leavesden. The hangar layout is not particularly RAF, more manufacturers I would say.

Toward the end of the clip there are some helium balloons (not hot air as the website says) and that is clearly at Dunstable Downs.

Over to you . . . please . . . . 😮
