Whilst at LGW yesterday, I noticed an airline that I had not seen before. My aircraft recognition skills are hopeless, but I think it was an A320 and it was parked on one of the gates at Pier 6 (North Terminal), but the description I am about to give is very vaige because I can only remember what the tail looked like, so I must apologise in advance…it had a black tail with a white zig-zag line across it?
As I said, a very vaige description, but does anyone have any idea as to what airline it could of been? Any help would be much appreciated.

Nicely done Phil:)
That stand is a very bad one for passengers – at least a 20 minute walk π
Cheers π – If I’d been commited I suppose I could have photoshoped it all together!
It is indeed a long walk – the terminal just seems to go on and on!

Yep – the MD88 was down the other end of the north terminal, by the rotunda of the south. id=0925321&size=L&width=1024&height=694&sok=JURER%20%20%28ZNGPU%20%28nvepensg%2Cnveyvar%2Ccynpr%2Ccubgb_qngr%2Cpbhagel%2Cerznex%2Ccubgbtencure%2Crznvy%2Clrne%2Cert%2Cnvepensg_trarevp%2Cpa%2Cpbqr%29%20NTNVAFG%20%28%27%2B%22RP-WXP%22%27%20VA%20OBBYRNA%20ZBQR%29%29%20%20BEQRE%20OL%20cubgb_vq%20QRFP&photo_nr=8&prev_id=0928334&next_id=0902630[/url]
And this is the stand, highlighted in red:
Is this of any use?

The only Air Plus Comet arrival on the 21st was at 0925 from Madrid and was an MD88 and it parked at Stand 46, which is not Pier 6.
Having checked, this aircraft that cloud9 talks about may be Air Kibris from Turkey – seems to be the only aircraft that was parked at Pier 6 that day that was not BA or a very recognisable carrier. It was a 737-800. This may be what you are talking about: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0978307/M/.

lol. Hate to tell you, but I already wear glasses… π
Then I suggest a re examination is in order :p

Congratulations.
You either mistook a 737, A310 or 747……… for an A320! Or Worse still, could have been an MD-80!!!! π
I must have mistaken an A320 for a 737 or A310 then, as I would defo know if it was a 747 or MD-80…
Get your eyes checked, buy a pair of real strong glasses! lol

O yes I remember seeing a Air Plus Comet i think it was a A310 at LGW

But surely an Argentine A320 wouldn’t have the range for Gatwick. π
I was really just talking about recognising the tail from the drawing.
However you do see Aerolineas Argentinas shorthaul aircraft At LGW, usually an MD-80something, operating their flights to MAD, which is probably what the Air Plus Comet aircraft was doing.

No, I wouldn’t have thought so either. But he may have mistook the plane for an A320 π I dunno, I just saw the tail logo and thought it looked pretty similar to what was drawn

Aerolineas Argentinas?
So Judas was right as well, same tail logo!
Is it just me or is Air Plus Comet a really naff name for an airline? I always think it sounds like they thought up 2 names, couldn’t decide which to use, so stuck them both together.

Looks like Air Plus Comet
That’s the one!
…but they don’t operate A320’s.
Ah, well I did warn you that my regonition skills are hopeless…lol.
Anyone know where they operate to/from LGW, as I have never seen it before?
By: greekdude1 - 22nd April 2006 at 23:46
Aegean Arilines it sounds like but I don’t think they got A320s [yet]
Aegean don’t have A320’s, nor do they fly to LGW. Unless either of these have come into play in the last six months.

Heres a few suggestions.
Some dont look anything like that but perhaps if you see them it might remind you of what it was.
