Which Scanner

Wanting to buy a scanner for a 13 year old brother for Christmas, sub £100. Any recommendations?

No idea on what is good, bad or indifferent (I fly commercially for a living so I don’t listen to it in my off duty periods!)

Also, my brother lives just north of Perth. What kind of reception can he expect in the Glens and what ATSU’s can he expect to receive (Scottish Mil./FIR etc.)?
