Whirlwind XP399 – Essex

Does anyone know what eventually happen to XP399 Whirlwind, that was resident in the Beer Garden of the Wheatsheaf Pub, Rettendon, Essex?

Did it eventually become Bean Can material or was it saved? 😮

It had certainly gone when I went past on 26/12/04 and hadn’t re-appeared by 24/12/05. Don’t know where it went though. Probably to HM sales at Stock-only about 8 miles away, but as I haven’t been there for a while we shall have to see what W&R 20 has to say. Unless someone knows different…………..

Last heard it was due to be scrapped – have you been to the beer garden and found it missing?
