There is some good quality movie footage taken in a Whitley cockpit…
In the DVD ‘Ferry Pilot’
Made during WW2 and featuring actual ATA ferry pilots 🙂

I stand corrected.
Any pictures of them?

Hello Joel
In answer to your question the view from the cockpit was reasonable for a RAF heavy bomber of the time. The pilots seat did have arm rests – they could be lifted up out of the way to facilitate entry into the seat. Hope that helps.

I certainly can’t see any sign of an armrest here (May not be a MkV)

The pilot’s seat is pictured on page 1 of this thread http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=93634
Combat radius is given as 2,650 km (The distance it can travel to when combat loaded yet still return to base)
