Hi jim jobe
Sorry i can’t help with the chaps in the photograph, but may i ask if you have any more photos from the Woodford show of 68 please ?
I have been trying to trace static park photographs from this event for several years without much success.

I have a few Paul which I’ll post in a day or two. Unfortunately the film was fogged and most images were unusable but I’ll send what I have. Do you have a log of the show by any chance as I have one or two queries about mine?
Jim
PS the 748 in the photo is the first prototype G-ARRV

Great to see those photos and a Ford Anglia and a Bedford Dormobile (?). Shame about the Tiger with an enclosed cockpit, sacrilege. Fortunately it has now reverted to its original state.:)

Ah yes the Ford ‘Angular’…it was always fun to hear them trying to start at this time of year 😀
istr you had to be careful of Dormobile sliding doors under heavyish braking, they ‘shut’ fairly quickly if you slammed on the anchors…well – as much as you could with good old drum brakes

That’s quite an unusual picture of a Shack, a Phase III just before the Viper fit. Most people seem to think that the Viper was a Phase III mod. (Well, i suppose it was eventually, it was rolled into the Phase III for the later aircraft.)

Many thanks! Can you add any others to my log (on the Woodford 1968 thread) by any chance? Particularly the two Chipmunks. I was beginning to think that nobody else in the Aviation fraternity was at Woodford in 1968!
Best regards,
Jim

Thanks very much cestrian !
I can’t hide my frustration at not being able to see XS186 on any of the shots, (fantastic nostalgic pictures though!) as i have been told she was there on the day and i think this event was probably her last outing before being retired very shortly afterwards.
Could you confirm XS186 in your log please ?
Could i push for any more you might have of the day too (perhaps a certain JP may be lurking in the background) ?
Many thanks again

XS186 was there with the Macaws. Does anyone recognise the unit that the JPs in Cestrian’s photos belonged to? Could it be 3FTS, Leeming??

Hi kenjohan,
Gentleman on left hand side is J.H.H. Hill and on right is J. Ramsden.
Same pic at bottom of page here – https://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1942/1942%20-%200615.html?search=penrose
Aircraft is possibly Lysander III T1759.
