Who invented movable horizontal stabilizer?

I’m writing about the Monocoupe 110, which had a movable horizontal stabilizer, via a jackscrew and single pivot point, for trim. Who invented this method of trimming? Note that I’m talking about a movable horizontal stabilizer with a conventional elevator, not a stabilator or an all-flying tail.
