Hi folks,
Who uses the code “OY” in their flight numbers? I noticed flight OY512 on the arrivals board at Edinburgh, coming from Hanover last night.
Now, Hanover is where I and my family would much prefer to fly to as it is literally on the back door step of my Gran and our extended family, but we cannot find any direct flights.
Yet, there on the Arrivals board last night was one!

Yeah, Paderborn is still an active British Barracks. There used to be about 5 in the area, Paderborn (1), Minden (3) and Bielefeld (1).
Now only Paderborn remains. Not for much longer according to sources. Might be closed down along with all the remaining barracks in German within the next 5 years. The life I knew will be no longer 🙁
The likelyhood of a direct EDI-HAJ service ebs away day by day.
Incidentaly, you can direct to HAJ from PIK.
But I’d rather eat my own family jewels in barbeque sauce than trust Ryanair with my money again.

Yes, I experienced the rather lary squaddies in HanNover when I was staying there, as there is a base just south of the city.
Would have superb if there was actually an EDI-HAJ service last year – would have made getting there/back a far lot easier/cheaper instead of routing through AMS/SOU!

“OY” is the code for Omni Air, Sandy.
I doubt they’d be selling tickets on the open market.
Ah, that’ll explain all the wifes and kids waiting for Squaddies then!
