Who knows more about this Cat?

Chuck Ellsworth posted this on another forum. Looks like the Catalina in The Netherlands is close to flight. The website of the Neptune association (which is in Dutch) is keeping very quiet about it all, which may be explained by the fact that they don’t want hundreds of people lining the runways, but still…. who knows more??

And yes I know, I don’t live as far away as most of you so perhaps I should be the one to know, but I don’t!

Let’s hope there’ll be photos of another airworthy Cat soon! (By the way we’re talking about PH-PBY, ex- 300, 2459, 73-P-9, 84-P-7, NC18446, C-FHHR and N27311. Bu/no 2459. Photos below.)

Hi

I photographed this ship (with a handful of other Catalinas) in the mid-80’s at Parry Sound, ONT, when it was just s.o.c. with Avalon Aviation, a Firefighting entity, that lost its State contract.

Will have to dig out the photographs / negatives.

They are almost finished, expect it to fly very soon. It has emerged in an all silver MLD livery, with blisters. BW Roger
