I must admit I also thumb through the old WW magazines from time to time. That is the one I do miss. At present I only subscribe to Warbirds International as that is the one with content that interest me. I did have Warbird Digest come in the mail, but it didn’t do that much for me to be honest. Apart from that I buy Flypast every once in a while when there is something I really wanna read about.

I don’t purchase any aviation mags these days.
I’ve converted to model making mags to further my model making interest.
I miss the Osprey Series of Warbird books of which I still have a large collection.

Yeah Mike, Warbird Digest followed the same route. Glossy and good read at first. Then, well it involved a lot of P51ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz:rolleyes:

It was initially brilliant in concept, content and quality. It then got better, with features and interviews you just couldn’t believe. Then it got not so good in content, and was always being late. Then it got full of Mustangs and adverts for Stallion 51. I’d lost interest in it long before it’s unfortunate demise. Sorry, but endless P51 features and a magazine that was always on sale to the punters at DX long before it arrived with the subscribers isn’t what I subscribed for. I still look at them on occasion though.

WW was a very good magazine, but as Propstrike has already said mentioned, I’ve got over it. I used to write and photograph for WW, it was a fun time with lots going on in the warbird movement.

Far more missed is Paul, a tragic loss of a good friend taken from us far too young. 🙁

I find I buy almost no periodicals now, as the cost, the time to ‘consume’ and the issue of storage ( too good to chuck ) are all issues now.

Pre-internet, it was as good as it could be, but for great pictures, up-to date info, background stories, online sources are more than adequate. However, it WAS a lovely read, – the paper was thick and glossy….

It was a high quality publication, I still read them when I get a minute.
There is nothing quite like it now.
