Last year I’m pretty sure I heard that the Southampton Hall of Aviation had acquired the former Jet Heritage Supermarine Swift, after a long period in store at Bicester (I think).
After flicking through the new issue of Flypast I see that the aircraft is now at Scampton with a group called ‘Heritage Developments Aviation’ who are to continue with the long term rebuild.
Was the Southampton deal just wishful thinking on the part of the museum and does anyone know anything about ‘Heritage Developments Aviation’.
Septic.

G-SWIF is owned by the Southampton Hall Of Aviation and will be restored to static condition.
When Jonathan Whaley owned it, it was stored 1st at Scampton but was moved after a couple of years to a private location in Oxfordshire. I believe it was displayed at an airshow while in transit to Southampton.

Merlin – consider that it hasn’t been updated. Often the ownership of an aircraft can be distinctly different to whom it is registered to!

according to the CAA G-INFO site it is currently owned by HERITAGE AVIATION DEVELOPMENTS LTD and has been since 1997.
So unless the info hasnt been updated recently then HADL own it.

Septic- I should have pointed out that it was for sale for some time with only a very few people likely to buy such a machine. I think we might find that museum money secured her!
