Lockheed Martin has selected RFD Beaufort of the UK to integrate its Advanced Garment Integrated Life Support Ensemble (AGILE) pilot flight equipment into the F-35 JSF.
RFD Beaufort has received a $1 million contract to modify existing off-the-shelf equipment to satisfy specific JSF requirements and the supply of pilot flight equipment to support the System Development and Demonstration phase of the F-35 development programme.
The integrated, low-burden AGILE ensemble provides a fully integrated flight jacket, featuring flotation collar, survival kit, chest counter-pressure bladder and an RFD Beaufort proprietary arm restraint solution.
According to the manufacturer, the ensemble “met the stringent performance requirements of the F-35 flying environment while providing best-value affordability”.
