This week Lufthansa, to mark the succees of their Edinburgh-Frankfurt service are flying a JU-52 built in 1936 and used in WW2 to Edinburgh airport so no longer wil I ahve to rely on the opening credits of’Where Eagles Dare’ to see a JU-52 in flight.
The full story of the arrival of the JU 52 and a photograph of this silver tri-motored bird can be accessed on www. @sundayherald.com edition for Sunday July 6th on the front page of the Business section.
Where a full history of the JU-52 is given but Vielen Danke! to Lufthansa for letting we Scots avaiation buffs get a rare sight of the Luftwaffe’s favourite workhorse.

Am i right in thinking that this JU-52 is to be attending Fairford also?
On the list of flyers at the show there is a JU-52 down on it.

Looking at their schedule it seems the JU52 will shortly head for Newcastle, then after a couple of flights there on to DX on Friday.

It’s not on the list for East Fortune, but would be a magnificent surprise if it turned up.
