Here’s my favourite – a well meaning Christmas present – even four year old Nipper Bantock can see the “notfires”!

I did see a film the other week where the Germans using a Hawker Hurricane to shoot down a Hudson. James Cagney was in it.

Captains of the clouds? I’ve got that on DVD somewhere.

I think I can spot the mistake – the crosses on the Hurricane are too large, and should be a bit closer to the tips. Am I right?

Although not intended for this purpose, it does make the point that the “He113s” shot down in the BoB had a central belly radiator as their main identifying feature.

Looking at the book it looks like the crosses have been added after the photo taken ,the angle of the crosses seem to face on ,what film would the Spitfire zh-t be used in.
It’s certainly retouched, the original is a well known picture of the Battle of Britain Flight (as it was then) of the Spitfire II and Hurricane taken between 1968 and 1971 when P7350 was in 266 Sq markings and LF363 in Bader’s 242 Sq LE-D markings.

The DVD I have of Battle of Britain has a Me109 with a Hurricane canopy on the cover. Might be the same artist.

No wonder there were so many friendly fire episodes if they were marking Hurricanes like that!
