Why is it difficult to find out what charter flights are due in at airports ?
In the old days it was a case of popping into the terminal and looking at the arrivals board and jotting down the flights. Now in the Internet age it should be much easier – but it isn’t.
Has Flightstats caused this problem I wonder ? A lot of dedicated airport websites just have embedded links now to Flightstats which only shows scheduled flights.
If Flightstats website facility to embed into websites wasn’t available then perhaps the airport website would just show the full list of flights that go to the handling agents at the airport.
Sometimes you can be lucky and the airport website shows charter flights as well such as Bourgas where I have just come back from.
Does anyone know if there is a way of getting info on charter flights ?
It seems really silly that airports especially holiday airports just link to Flightstats when 90% of the flights are missing. It’s basically like the old days of having to go to the airport despite the Internet availability !
Wikipedia seems to list with great accuracy what airlines go into an airport – proved by my recent trips to Sharm El Sheikh and Bourgas. I wonder where they get the info from.
Just wondering if anyone knew what the reason was for missing info on charters especially as they are booked for the season.
There are roundabout ways of getting info such as filtering on airports on Flightradar24 and seeing a selection of what’s in the air at the time but it’s very hit and miss and will only show a selection of stuff depending on SBS coverage.

What airports are you on about in particular? All the uk airports should show charter flights as they are linked to Airport Coordination Limited.
