Whilst I understand that the Gazelle was originally a French design, as was the Puma whilst the Lynx was very much a British designed – they are often purported to be Anglo-French designs, which I understand is not the case.
however I’m intrigued that once the UK identified that the Gazelle was a suitable helicopter, unlike lots of other projects there doesnt’ appear to be a lot of work done to enhance the design ie create updated versions (so yes there were different “versions” called 1/2/3 and 4) but more interested to understand why having deployed a version 1 product, whether there was any thought given to more advanced versions of this design.
Not a helicopter that I believe I’ve seen a lot of published material about which is the reason for the question – so anyone know the details I’d be interested to hear
