Wild Weasel Aircraft of the world and there roles

Thought i would start something about SAM destroyer Aircraft.

When we talk about wild weasel aircraft do these have any differences from normal aircraft apart from the addition of anti radiation missiles? Do they have any different avionics or external pods? I think the USAF uses F16’s that have the designation CG or something. Are the F16’s just standard and get the designation when they carry HARM’s on a SAM destroyer mission or do the pilots train especially for this role?

The Tornado GR1’s (and probably GR4 can carry alot of ALARMS but i don’t think they use any special equipment or avionics as well.

The UK and other Airforces don’t seem to give aircraft a separate designation for aircraft with this ability. I think the Tornado GR4 has the ability to carry on each side of the inner wing external fuel tank 2 ALARM or ASRAAM/Sidewinder. Here is a good picture of a GR4 with a load of 12 brimstones on the centre pylons and 4 ALARMS on the wing and the usual fuel tanks and Sky Shadow and BOZ pods. Not sure if this is ever practical but it looks good!

There was a conversion from the tornado F3 to EF3 when some were loaded up with ALARMS. Is there any specialist equipment on board for detecting SAMS? I have trouble finding a decent picture of the EF3.

I have heard ALARM is alot better than the HARM missile is the US upgrading or replacing HARM with something better? I did hear something about using GPS bombs i think?
