Merlins Over Malta is currently running a competition to help raise funds to fly HAC’s Spitfire and Hurricane down to Malta in September of this year. Each entry into the competition costs £5.00 and you can enter as many times as you like.
Second Prize
A holiday for two to Malta in September to see the aircraft fly over the island
Third Prize
A Diverse Image’s diorama of the Spitfire and Hurricane
The Questions
1 Who where the designers of (a) the Spitfire and (b) the Hurricane?
2 What is the name of the Rolls-Royce powerplant used in both aircraft?
3 Who was the famous Duxford based fighter Ace who flew both types during World War 2, despite having no lower legs?
4 The Spitfire which will return to Malta in September 2005 was built at which Midlands-based factory which is now used to manufacture Jaguar cars?
5 Which city is the capital of Malta?
6 The island was awarded which honour fir its role in the Second World War?
To enter, either download the PDF competition form and complete the form by answering the six questions or take a blank piece of paper and write the answers along with your address, contact phone number, email address and the type and year of registration of the car you currently drive.

The Jaguar has been won!
We picked the winners of the three prizes in the MoM competition on Monday evening. Details of the winners will be released shortly.

This is just a reminder to say that the Merlins Over Malta competition is now closed.

You can download and complete the competition form or you can just put the answers on a piece of paper and send them along with your £5.00 (per entry) entrance fee to the address on the website.

We will be at Duxford for the VE celebration Air Show selling tickets. Come and find us outside Hangar 2 and the FlyPast/Friends of Duxford tent near the American Air Museum.

Competition Third Prize revealed!
The third prize in the Merlins Over Malta competition has been revealed!

Handcrafted and painted in English Pewter by Diverse Images.
This diorama features a solid silver hand engraved plaque an exclusive signed certificate and a piece of Hurricane skin signed by five veterans from the air battle over Malta.
The winner will receive edition 4 of 12.
