Wind correction

I was reading this article about wind correction using lidar.

Could that kind of technology be used on planes? Could the targetting pods do something like that?

Imagine the gun or dumb bombs being accurate enough to be used from medium altitude with the almost the same accuracy as guided munitions. At least from beyond the range and altitude that MANPADS can reach.
