soon to be ready cr42? i think there may be 1 or 2 projects in front of this at the moment.
Alot of people have been saying that the show has become a bit predictable. i am sure if mr grey decided to sell his fleet tommorrow there would be a massive uproar. Our friends over the atlantic would give their right arm for a show as amazing as this.
Bring on July!!!

My wish is
Not to be called ” boy ” or have the whistle being blown at me during the weekend. To have my yellow truckers cap on said head, without comments being made by ” team spitfire “.
And finally…..I listen to the sound of “O say can you see” being sung over the airwaves by someone slightly crazy

Legends 08 – Specific dogfights.
Nice idea, like it.
How about a couple of Gladiators defending Malta from Axis attack?
Re-paint the Merlins Over Malta Hurri and Spit for some extra ‘originality’ and have them attempting to land as reinforcements while the soon-to-be ready CR.42 is pounced on by the Gladiators.
By: spike66 - 12th February 2008 at 15:41
I’d like to add my wish list ,
How about , at least one of everything that ever flew in the last world war , not the falklands or vietnam or desert storm or the other ones , leave them for the other shows , failing that , as many warbirds that can make it , oh hang on isn’t that what legends is already .:D
But seriously , FW 190 v Tempest dogfight would be much better than Buchon v Spitfire ,
or even better Zero v Corsair ,
or Me 110 v Hurricane ,
or He111 being buzzed by 5 Spitfires ,:dev2:
Any other combo’s you all fancy ,
specific dogfights could be recreated ,
gunfire soundtrack played over the P/A ,:diablo:
the sky’s the limit .

Im moaning about the date not the show!
Im a big fan of Legends and this will be the first one that I have missed since they started, thats why im gutted about the clash of dates.
Oh and I think you will find its more than one or two as most aircraft magazines have made comments about this, and not very favourable ones at that!
Ultimatly it makes no difference as its the general public who brings in the money not enthusiastsPhill
As I said I believe Legends has had the same date for years and that RIAT changed their dates so why should some people want the show organisers at Legends to change the dates????? for the Duxford show
By: warhawk69 - 11th February 2008 at 20:06
Not even half way through Febuary and you arm chair experts are moaning about Legends get real people or at least get a life as far as I’m aware legends has been on the same date for years so why should they change and for the odd one or two who allways moan about shows and want some thing different Hey walk around with a smile on your face and say great, the show organisers have done a great job now that would be different and worth the entry fee alone. I reckon a few of you lot could moan for England

All I wish is to be able to go there. I’m shure the show will be worth it to make the trip from Belgium. I’m shure it will be great. As far as my wish list of aircraft; I have none. But I do like suprises! 😉

i would personally like to see the 2 p-40s together and the gladiators, maybe a big mustang gathering or something like that.
Unlikely to see a big Mustang gathering as there not that many airworthy in Europe (11 maybe??)
The problem i have with flying legends is its 2 much of the same aircraft if thee was something new and unique and a different flying list i would go every year but most of us have seen the b-17 and catalina and dnt get me wrong i like to see them but we need more variety something new something that would really make me want to go
So things like a P40C, FW190 (static last year), Hawk 75, Polikarpov, A36 etc etc etc are not something new or varied then?
By: blurrkup - 11th February 2008 at 16:10
How about the three Messerschmitt Bf-109s from Germany (ok re-engined Buchons), that would be worth seeing

Legends is what it is, why change it?
If you don’t want to see up to a dozen Spitfires in the air at once then don’t go! If you want to see jets then go to a show where there are jets. Legends is a niche show, predominantly for piston warbirds, just as Farnborough is a niche show for allegedly new aircraft, or RIAT or Waddington a show bringing together the current equipment of Air Arms from all over the World. If we’re going to change Legends let’s change RIAT. Get rid of those boring and repetitive aerobatic teams, reduce the size of the static park so there’s not so far to walk, cut the show down to about three hours and reduce admission by three quarters.
Legends? They truly are and should be left well alone.
My wish list for Legends? Simple, just that everything that goes up gets down safely. No whinging from me if something doesn’t show, or isn’t ready in time, or is just unable to fly on the day. I KNOW I shall be more than pleased with whatever turns up.

My sentiments exactly.

Legends 08
Good call. A dozen spitfires is always a lovely sight.
Now they need to combine it with the opening flyby by the 2 Lancs, the Chinese Stirling which has been spotted in a hangar in Tso Mao, the Loch Ness Wellington which Brooklands have made Airworthy and of course the Halifax Friday the 13th that Elvington have restored to flight status.
Following close behind will be the restored Blenheim, a new-build Hampden, the Whitley and Fairy Battle.
No? Should I keep dreaming?

… last time I looked in their hangar they didn’t have any jets.
You’re just being picky letting minor details like that stand in the way 😮

My wishlist? Ray and Mark back together doing synchronised aeros in a pair of Spitfires. 🙁
