dark light

Within 24 hrs, yesterday & today

Yesterday at about 18.10 parked up on the northbound carriageway hard shoulder of the A1 just north of Sawtry, I caught a glimpse on the back of an artic lorry, of what looked like a spit fuselage with the No. LA255?

Then today at 09.10 sitting in the westbound A14 traffic that started at Bottisham and went all the way to Histon in Cambridge, where the was a multi car accident, I saw another artic lorry with what distinctly looked like a tarpaulin covered V2 rocket?

To see one thing every now and then is to be expected, but to see two things in such quick succession is unusual is it not?

Be very happy to see the V2 in the RE museum but it’s stuffed full, where are they going to put the rocket?

While I’m on, the Museum is well worth a visit. Very interesting and well laid out displays, a Harrier and lots of tanky type things outside. A lot of aviation Museums could learn from it

It’s the Real IRA on their way to disrupt the Olympics….

Could it have been the Paramilitary on the way home from security duties looking after the Paralympians at the Paralympics? 😉

err, which ended on Sunday…

I think that was exactly what he was trying to make a joke out of it?
However for full correct completion, the OLYMPICS ended appx 4 or so weeks ago.
The PARALYMPICS are what ended on Sunday.

V2 or V1 ?

Sorry was “I saw another artic lorry with what distinctly looked like a tarpaulin covered V2 rocket?” not quite clear enough?
Quite apart from the fact that a V1 would not need an artic to transport it.

could be Lashendon air warfare museum maned doodlebug that is coming back from long term restoratio. heard it was due back any time from Germany.

Routed to go to Kent via Cambridge is hardly an appropriate route if it’s come through from Felixstowe??
It would start off down the A12 not west along the A14.

Anyway, a quick look at the BBMF Facebook page will give you all the details on LA255 and lots of pics at Audley End being painted.

Not the first time recently that LA255 has been on the road. More on this thread from a few weeks ago:
