Wizz Air add 4th Glasgow Prestwick Route

Wizz Air would establish its 7th operating base in Poznan airport starting in January 2008. The airline also revealed the launch of four new routes from Poznan: Doncaster/Sheffield, Prestwick/Glasgow, Malmo/Copenhagen and Oslo-Torp (Sandefjord) (from 31 January 2008), complementing its existing services to London-Luton, Stockholm-Skavsta and Dortmund.

To start with Wizz Air will base one new A320 aircraft in Poznan and will employ a local crew.

The additional capacity will be put onto new routes as well as allowing frequency increases on existing routes.

Starting from 31 January 2008 Wizz Air’s route network from Poznan will be as follows:

Doncaster/Sheffield, 3 times a week. Starting on 31 January

Prestwick/Glasgow, 2 times a week. Starting on 31 January

Malmo/Copenhagen, 3 times a week. Starting on 31 January

Oslo-Torp, 3 times a week.Starting on 31 January

The frequency on the existing route between Poznan and London-Luton will be increased to 7 times a week.

Dortmund to 4 times a week and Stockholm-Skavsta to 3 times a week.

Wizz Air anticipates that it will carry approximately 300 000 passengers on its Poznan routes in 2008.
