Wizz away!

Good news for LPL. Wizz are to start services to Katowice, Warsaw and Budapest! There wil be 3 flights per week to each airports using the A320
I see the potential for them. LPL also have has Rome to come from RYR.
All the best to Wizz i say!

I’m sure Jersy Dudek ( Polish Liverpool Goalkeeper) might be of interest to a number of Poles 😀

Over the past 4 months, we’ve steadily seen WizzAir’s route network and frequencies increase at LTN. BUD is now more or less three a day, WAW twice a day, GDN once a day and KTW twice a day. The other morning on the way to work, there were three WIZZ A320 on the ramp at LTN at the same time. Got to say, they have a fantastic livery. Everytime I look at their flights, they are always way more expensive than EZY. I hope that greed/over-optimism isn’t their downfall.

WizzAir have challenged EZY out of LTN on a number of routes and are doing very well. Currently on 6 A320s with more on the way, and whenever I have seen them at LTN the check in queues seem as long as EZY’s ie out the door!

I hate to be controversial but I rather suspect that a lot of the passengers travelling from Warsawa and Katowice may not be planning to use their return ticket coupon!

How on earth can Whizz fill planes like 737/320s on a regular basis on a route such as LPL-Katowice? LHR-Katowice would be difficult enough. Who is this Whizz? Are they no seat no/no drink/no hot meal/15KG baggage airlines? Do hope not!

For a UK airline, this would be difficult. But hopefully Wizz should be able to generate enough demand in Poland to sustain flights to LPL (e.g. as a city break destination).

As far as I am aware, WizzAir is a Hungarian low cost airline which currently flies from London Luton, offering competitive fares to the Hungarian capital, Budapest.

They have a brilliant colour scheme – certainly very colourful 😀

It’s all good stuff, isn’t it? 🙂

We should welcome any and all growth at Regional Airports, IMHO.

Great news – I think Jet2 should start a BUD route from LBA.

Are there any direct links with these destinations (particularly Budapest) from the north of England or even Scotland? I didn’t think there were.

Malev used to fly MAN-BUD a couple of years ago with their Fokkers but the route is currently suspended.

Excellent news.

I ask because there seems to plenty of possibilities for flights to these destinations from London Airports. Budapest is served by British Airways from London Heathrow and London Gatwick, easyJet from Gatwick, Luton (?) and Stansted and Wizzair from Luton.

Kaatowice! From LPL hope they are using a Shorts 360 coz they will struggle to fill anything else!

Do I get any snap on WizzAir? If so I may go Budapest with them, if not I go Malev!
