Wizz further DSA expansion

Just scouting through the Wizz website looking to see if the BTS services had been announced that are presently being mooted and noted that they announced a further DSA schedule commencing in July to Gdansk 4 weekly.

Wizz certainly seem to be thew strongest out to the “Eastern” Euro lo-co’s, with the downfall of Air Polnia last year, and comparing with Centralwings and SkyEurope. It has to be said I can see more of a Ryanair approach with them compared to any other lo-co in Europe, with choices of airfields on the route map for one seeming rather interesting to view!

They certainly seem to have tapped up their market region rather well over the last 3 years!

No there won’t be a based TCX, Pegasus will continue to do Dalaman for Thomas Cook and Thomas Cook will continue to take a share on Thomsonfly flights to Ibiza and Naples.

Nouvelair will take over Monastir from the TCX 752, whilst Air Europa will take Las Palmas full season and they will also take on the new flights to Palma and Tenerife.

Will TCX base an a/c at DSA ?

No I dont think so, where on the DSA website it says they have just got bigger it just means they have a wider choice of destinations to travel with them and the flights will be on Thomsonfly and i think aireuropa will be operating a couple of flights for them next summer. The weekly sunday Monastir flight is also aparently going to be operated by Nouvelair instead of Thomas Cook themselves.

Plenty going on at DSA, there will be amongst other things an ILS upgrade this winter and runway lighting improvements with the airport closing during nights for works.

Flybe to Belfast and Ryanair to Girona starting next week in addition to the recent Wizz to Katowice (which goes 4 x weekly next summer) and Ryanair to Pisa routes.

Shaheen should start before the new year to Islamabad and Flyglobespan start next summer to Toronto. On top of that Thomas Cook are increasing their own charter flights from the airport taking in Tenerife, Palma and Gran Canaria full season next summer.

Without too much being announced for next summer it looks good.
