Thinking about it now i think you could be correct . when WK163 as overflown in the past you can hear those twin avons for a good while. today it was a short swoooosh and gone. the sound of a Vampire at speed i guess.
is the Vampire due down at Duxford this weekend.?

Might possibly have been Vampire G-HELV…..just a teeny weenie bit smaller than WK163 but she’s the only jet out of coventry that I know has flown in the past few days

I reckon as soon as the Avons pass muster within the new “lifetime” rules. AACF consider it will fly next season.

Spoke to Malcolm, the chap looking after the Canberra at MAM and asked him, and he said it was lack of spares (something along those lines, was a few months back) preventing it from returning to the air, although now they have the trainer it might change if they get some spares with that
