On Friday 16th December, Canberra B.2(6) WK163 had its first engine runs after a long period of overhaul. All went well and she should be available for display during 2006.

More photos and a short video clip will be online at http://www.classicflight.com shortly

That’s good news. One of my favourite cold war jets.

Hello
Great News, will be a nice sight next year as the RAF will be saying farewell to the PR.9.
Which just leaves India with few remaining Canberra’s, slightly less as one has crashed 🙁 🙁

Hi Peter,
I ran out of disc space by the time they got around to actually starting the engines, but I will get more footage next time she runs.

A short video clip of a cartridge firing and a few more photos are now up in the news section on www.classicflight.com
Excuse the camera shake when the thing goes off, but it gets me every time!

Friday test included some minor ‘low end’ engine accells. We’ll be starting the full program of testing in the new year. And yes we’ll be flying next year!! 😀 😀

Fantastic, will it fly duo with the T.4?
The T.4 requires some work before she can be flown, but we would also love to see them together! It all depends on us getting bookings for them, so if you want to see it, start lobbying the show organisers now!! 😉

Great picture Tom.
Nice to see that the cowlings I cut out for the static runs are being put to good use!
I only wish I had been there.
Well done Chris and the CFS guys for all their hard work.

Great news. Well done and my two thumbs up for the engineering team. I’m very happy to notice again that the classic lines of the canberra will still grace the UK skies in the future.
Well done!
