NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Pilots of historic aircraft should dress as the original pilots did, not wearing 21st century bonedomes!!!!!

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Nice pics there.

I love the pic of the Hurricane about to take off with the smoke in the background.

Reminded me of the BOB Film for some reason.

Fantastic stuff!

I dunno if it’s just me, but the picture of AR213 landing makes the plane look, well, almost like a beautifully detailed model! 🙂

Super pics. It is not often that black and white pics work unless done properly – I think yours are great.

I also like the swirls from the Hurri prop. Just shows that you can sometimes get better and more unusual shots in not so good weather. I have not checked many of my Sunday shots so I better take a look.

The B25 slow shutter landing is brilliant. As far as the 109 is concerned, I thought it was a great approach and landing. He sneaked in very quickly and I missed the sort of shot you got.

Thanks for posting

Cheers

The B&W shots are fantastic, particularly the taxiing Spit with Home Guard to this side and a soldier on a bike.

Nope, no tripod. I do have one but I rarely use it. 🙂

Thanks for the information. I always the centre focus point only for this kind of pictures. Cracking shot of the Sea Vixen. One last question: do/did you use a tripod?

The “spirals” on the B-25 and Hurricane are caused by moisture in the air – they are vortices – for example: (the first one’s one of mine too. :p)

For the B-25 Pan… put it at 1/60 (or something around that), do a few test shots to make sure that the exposure is correct… set it to the required focal length (probably easier to leave it at a certain length to ensure it’s in focus). Make sure the camera is set to “manual focus point selection” and set on centre point only (I use this all the time anyway) then take a number of shots, following the aircraft (approach/landing is best) and keeping the camera steady. Some shots will probably be blurry but often you’ll get one or two sharp ones. 🙂 (I don’t have IS either. :))

Here’s another one of mine:

Cheers. 🙂

Loverly pics there G-CVIX ,
the B/W with the Buchon passing WW2 dressed troops is great , but my fave has to be the spirals surrounding the Hurricane , how d’ya do that ?
The aircraft must be moving , obviously , so a panning shot , but why isn’t the rest of it not blurred , was it luck or timing or did you adjust the shutter speed or somthing else .
What a contrast with weather , you had glorious sun and we had all day mist at LG .

Great pics indeed!! Well done. I’m also curious to hear how you make those spirals. They seem to be visible on the second B-25 shot as well.

The first B-25 shot is taken on a very slow shutter speed, but still is as sharp as a …… very sharp. I never managed to get this level of sharpness in my pictures of this particular aircraft, even at 1/400 sec with my IS-lens. Could you unveil this secret as well?
