Wooden Prop Spinner

Can anyone help with finding information on how the wooden spinners are built into the prop? The first picture of the Finnish Gamecock is a very good example of what it will look like. Sorry to say, but most prop makers are answering with ‘I’ve heard about that”.
Specifics would help.
