I was wondering,
Was woodford open to the public on the friday before the RAFA Airshow on the Saturday sometime in June, as this was often the day that had better weather, does anybody have photographs from these rehersal/arrival days from any of the 33 shows that took place at that venue
Regards

Some great nostalgic shots there!!!
As for the dates;
Su27 595 appeared every year ’92-’96 so take your pick!
The Hawk 200 ZH200, “74”sqn (actualy BAEs) Lightning F6 & Phantoms were at the truly superb (and sunny yet tragic) ,92 show.
Buccaneer was from 1989
Lightning F3 XR716 was the 1973 226OCU/2T sqn display ship
Lightning F3 XR718/C was the 1980 LTF display ship
Victors for K2 conversion were present from ’73- ’76 so the Vampire shot was from one of those!
Tornado F3 ZE167 was the 25sqn display ship in ’91 and the scud missile was also there, post Gulf war 1
Thanks Kodak. God so long ago, sad thing is still have most of the programes.

A poor BW pic of HS 748 at 50 feet in the rain with one engine feathered.
Chances of seeing that again at an airshow, not a hope.

Ah the good old days at Woodford. Sadly never to be repeated, Wasn’t the weather the bugger. Always rained at some point during the day.
Fond memories.

OOOOPs, got a bit carried away with ‘post’ button. What I was going to say was that one of the stars of the show that I went to was a Draken. I also recall a rip-snorting routine from a couple of Canadian F18’s and an excellent display by Air Atlantiques DC6.
