No matter how badly our players do when playing for their country, it will all be forgotten once the new football season
gets underway, and they are playing in front of their adoring fans.

I don’t think I would like to be in Swarezes(Spelling?), boots when he plays his first game for Liverpool, he will be “Walking Alone” I bet, as far as the Liverpool fans are concerned.

Interesting story in the news about Harry Redknapp. Claiming that Tottenham players asked to be excused England duties.

Why don’t I find this surprising ?

And of course the only reason foreign players want to come here is the vast amounts of money they are paid to do so. There’s no other reason. Why is it we never see that overworn derogatory description “fat cats” never applied to soccer players?

The pity is that the narcissism and self-indulgence of the professional game here spoils it for youngsters. And I speak from personal experience.

You’d think by now after all these years that the penny would drop for the fans to learn why top/premier league teams prefer to sign players from the likes of France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina et al and prize them more than national players. English being cr*p has something to do with it.

I did come across a bit of news, some time ago, well, many yrs ago, that when Sir Stanley Matthews played an away game, he had to pack his own lunch/snack up, and find his own way to the Ground he was playing on. Can you imagine that happening today, with the overpaid, pumped up tw**s we have today?.
I wonder what they would do, should they lose a match, only get a quarter of their weekly wage?. Win or lose, they don’t care, as long as there is a fat cheque at the end of the month.I also cannot understand their fans who spend nearly £100.00 for a shirt, that was no doubt made in China for 50p, just because it bears their Clubs/players name on it. By just supporting their club in “Civvies” and attending a game shows they support their club.Pillocks.

The thing that amazes me, when it comes to fielding an English team, most of those who seemingly play for England are foreigners.

Too right I need some geography lessons ! When I sat my last Geography exam at the age of sixteen I was awarded five marks out of one hundred. My form master put a note at the bottom of my report:

” This boy does well to find his way home !”

I’m from England, am a proud Brit… And I couldn’t give a toss about England. I hate football with a passion, pointless overpaid p*ssies that are more worried about their £2,000 hair cut… Or hair transplant in Potato’s case… It’s quite amusing seeing England lose however and seeing the fans, fully grown adults, whine and cry. That bit is ever so satisfying.

All subjective of course, we all have our interests. But it’s still highly amusing seeing them lose.

Couldn’t have put it better myself 🙂

Personally I support the Netherlands, and have done so since I saw the brilliant Johan Cruyff playing for his country and Ajax.

Re 5

Belgium ? Where’s that ? What is it ?

You need some geography lessons.

Belgium is the team which, unlike England, won their first two games in the group stages and qualified for the knockout stage of the tournament.

As a Belgium supporter I couldn’t give a toss about England, except to say I hope they have a quick exit.

I enjoy watching the world cup and I’m not even a football fan.

To improve the game players should apply to be part of the team. By employing some kind of point system those that have applied are interviewed for suitability.
It should be an unpaid role with just travel and expenses.
That way you’ll get a team which at least cares.
