World Speed Record Aircraft (Putnam)

I have been reading the above book. It is an interesting read that ends abruptly late 1980s when the book was written. It seems that in those days any self-respecting unlimited class racer (Griffon Mustang, Wright 3350 Sea Fury etc) could achieve 520mph or so, the “or so” being the interesting bit. Now 25 years later it could really do with a second edition, but I don’t think it will be getting one. Can anyone suggest a book to fill the gap?

“Fly low Fly fast” by Robert Gandt takes the Reno story up to 1999 and is a very good read.
